As a result of a complaint filed in our office by a concerned
citizen, we reviewed your recent landscaping improvements on Lot 7,
Block 4, Shalimar Plaza Addition, along the west side of Ohio Street.
These improvements have been placed on public right-of-way and thus
are subject to certain standards of construction.
Your landscaping improvements appear to conform with all cur-
rent criteria, with one exception. The area between the sidewalk
and the curb line must be graded to permit no obstructions to natural
drainage. As presently constructed, the earthen mounds, etc. would
cause water to pond on the sidewalk area. This situation creates an
inconvenience to pedestrians during rainy seasons and a definite haz-
ard to pedestrians during freezing weather.
Please contact me to arrange a meeting between representatives
of your firm, your landscape contractor and our office as soon as
possible to resolve this deficiency.
