As requested by Mr. Les Appleby of Appleby and Marsh
Architect Engineers, we have contacted the city engineer's
office regarding drilling in the east end of the Dow Ad-
dition for soil classi£ications.near the flood control
dike. Per instructions by Mr. Don Hoff to drill 6 to 10
holes 15 to 20 feet deep, we drilled 8 test holes at the
locations as shown on Figure No. 1. All the holes were
drilled about 15 feet deep, except Hole No. 2 which was
drilled in a part of Beloit Avenue where about 4 feet of
soil had already been excavated. Boring logs showing the
soil classifications in each hole are at the back of this
report, and graphic boring logs of the holes are shown on
Figures No. 2 and 3 for east of visualization and compar-
ison.
