OM,stkru c t build, maintain and operate a railroad, and the. right to use pos- sess and occupy certain streets and alleys inb,:'Vhe city of Salina, Kansas. Re it ordained by the TTayor and oouncilrien of the city of Salina, Section, 1. That the right of way be and the sauce is hereby gran- ted to "The .ITissouri Pacific Railway roc#lpany -in Kansas" i-ts suc- cessors, lessees and assigns, and the right to construct, build e%M maintain and operate a railroad with single track and the right to use possess and.occtipy the following specified streets, alleys and public grounds in the said city of Salina, to -wit: on the north side of the center of North Street in said city from the eastel`h limits thereof being the east line of :Front Street, westerly along said north side of the center of ?North' Street through said city upo said street to the west side of Eighth Street in said city, !lith the right to cross any and all streets and alleys intersecting or, crossing said North Street from the eastern limits thlereof to the ,!est side of said Eighth Street in said .city. Sec. That the rights, priveleges and grants given by this ordi- nance to the said Railway rompany, its successors, lessees and as- signs, shall be, remain and vest in said Railway ror.,ipany, so long as the same shall be used for the purposes in this ordinance spec- ifies, for the l,urposes o1 s_ i:l Railway and with.., reasonable rules ' and regulations hereafter tirade by the city of Salina .in the exer- cise of its legal powers. Sec. 3. That t}ie said "The ?Tissouri Pacific Railway company in Kan- sas" shall within sit months after completing 'its railroad to and into said city of .S'al'ina, make, provide and maintain Oit its own expense substantial and sufficient crossings and approaches over its railroad tracks on said streets whenever thereafter required so to do by said city.
