447 Insurance Companies License Tax-* -1-- - - --- -4 �B� ��9aa,, y� . ����: i�cui/Cl 0 WROOO" Ordinance No. 447 An Ordinance Relating to License Taxes on Insurance Companies. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina, Kansas. Section 1. That on and after July 1St, 1885 it shall be unlawful for any Insurance Company to engage in the business of insuring, or into policies of insurance, against loss by fire, lightening, or tornadoes or upon the life or lives of any person or person within the limits of this city without having first obtained a license therefore from the city. Section 2. The amount to be paid for a license under this ordinance shall be at the rate of $10.00 per annum, but no license shall be granted for less than $5.00. The City Clerk shall keep a record of all licenses issued under this ordinance and shall number them in the order in which they are issued. Section 3. Every person who within the limits of this city, shall act as agent of or which business for any company which is not licensed as aforesaid, and any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than three dollars or more than twenty-five dollars. Section 4. That this ordinance take effect and be in force from and after its publication in the Saline County Journal. Approved June 15, 1885
