An ordinance providing for the construction of a sidewalk on the
south side of Iron Avenue from the north west corner of Bishop &
Blodgetts Addition to Salina to the west line of the city.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina,
Kansas.
Sec. 1. That the owner or owners of any real-estate abutting on
the south side of Iron Avenue between the north west corner of
Bishop and Blodgetts Addition to the city of Salina,Kansa&, are
hereby required to build or cause to, be built on or before the /I 7
day of Llr� 188 (/- , a sidewalk in front of such real-estate
on said Avenue, in manner as specified in section 2 of this ordi-
nance, and to the satisfaction of the committee on sidewalks of
said city.
Sec. 2. That the sidewalks herein provided for shall be of even
grade throughout as now determined by the city engineer and shall
be built five feet and four inches wide of a good quality of com-
mon pine ,plank two inches thick and spiked with 20 penny nails. and
supported by three '_-10 inch stringers well lapped and spiked wi.thd
20 penny nails. The stringers shall be placed upon flat stones

the length of the side of each lot on which such sidewalk is con-
structed and the actual expense of the smie for each of said lots
to the iiayor and Council and which report shall be filed and pre-
served by the city clerk.
Sec. 4. The ex>ense of buildi.nff such sidewalks by said committee
shall be assessed anainst the real estate abutting thereon and col-
lected as other taxes on such real estate.
Sec. 5. This ordinance shall -take effect and be in force fromi and
after its pi.:.blication in the Saline County Journal.
