Ordinance No. 415
An ordinance to establish a City Bench Mark.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina, Kansas.
Section 1. That the top of the block of Manhattan limestone 47 inches long, 13 inches wide and
11% inches thick which was planted June 181h, 1884 by F.L. Weaver, City Engineer as described in his
report thereof, and the location of which is thirteen (13) feet west and twenty-five (25) feet south of the
northwest corner of Fifth Street and Iron Avenue be and the service is herby established as the City Bench
Mark, and the elevation of the top of the said stone is declared to be one hundred (100) feet above an
assumed distance place from which all grades and leveling heights and distances are to be measured and
located.
Section 2. That this ordinance take effect and be in force from and after its publication in the
Saline County Journal.
