nn ordinance providing for the construction of sidowalks on Santa
Fo Avenue and Eighth Streets in uhe city of Salina,Kansa.s•
'Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmee n of the city of Salines,
F:ansas•
Sectionj4That the owner- of any real istate abutting on 'the east
side of Santa Fe Avenue,between Walnut and South St reet s in the
city of Sa.lina,is hereby re uiredlo b?;ild oC cause to be built on
or before the /�'� day of 18844 a sidewalk in f aiont of
such r:''al estate on said street in manner as described in section
three of this ordinance and to the satisfaction of the cop_mnittr;e
on sidewalks of said city.

satisfaction of the corm.iittee on sidewalks of said city.

grade throiiprhout to be determined by the pity engineer and shall
be built five feet four inches wide,
of a �,00d cruality of common eine plank two inches
thick and spik^d with t tenty penny nails,and supported'by three

e,o jay six inch stringers Covell lapped and spiked with tiventy -»n-
ny nails.The stringers shall be placod upon flat stones -placed at.
intervals of not more than four feet.
Section,4-The corju�i?;tee oIh , ide.valks shall as soon as practicable
after the said day of 1684 cause sidewalks to be conte
structed between the Iim s defined in sections one and two and in
the manner specified in section three of this ordinance in front
of all lots and premises whose owners shall not havo, complied, with
the foregoing regarirement s, and shall report their proceedings to-
gether ,pith the length of .the side of each lo#; on which such side-
walk is constructed and the actual el-ponse of the same for each
lot to the Mayor and Council and which report shall be filed and
,~)reserved by the city clerk.-
Sect ion,,5.T-he expense of building such sidewalks by- the said com-
mittee shall be assessed against the real )st F_�te abutting thereon
and collected as other taxes on such real ast<ate•
