An ordinance providing for thp,.construction of sidewalk in the City of
Salina, Kansas.
Be it. ordained by the Mayon and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That the owner or owners of any and all the real esta
abutting on the west side oaf Second street, between Ash street and Elm
street, in said city of Salina re hereby required to build or cause to

be built, on or before the. day o , 1900, a sidewalk in
front of such real estate on said Second street, in conformity with the
provisions of Ordinance No. 1038 of the printed ordinances of said city
and to the satisfaction of the committee on sidewalks of the city council.
Sec. 2. That the sidewalk provided for herein shall. be of even r
,.grade throughout, to be determined by the city engineer, and shall;'be
built of the material, widthand in the manner specified in said Ordinance
No. 1038 of said City of Salina.
Sec. 3. The ommittee on sidewalks shall, as soon as practicable*.
after the said ay of �1900,,cause sidewalks to be construct
ed between the limits defined in Section 1 of this ordinance in front of
all lots and premises whose owners shall.not have complied with the fore-
going provisions, and shall report their proceedings, together with the
length of the side of each lot on which such sidewalk in constructed, and '
the actual expense of the same for each of said lots to the mayor and
councilmen, which report shall be filed and preserved by the city clerk.

shall be assessed against such real estate abutting thereon, and-
col-lected as other taxes on such real estate.
