An ordinance providing for the condemnation, removal ang reconstruction
of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of`Salina: -"
Section 1'. That each and all, of `the sidewalk on, along and adja-
cent to the east side of Lots One (1), nine (9) and ten (10),. on Baker
street, in University addition to the City of Salina, Kansas; atit each and
all of the sidewalk on, along and adjacent,to the east side of Lots a
numbered 8, 101 A21-141 16 and 18 on Santa Fe avenue in Prescott's addi-
tion to.said city, and Lots numbered 10., 12, 22, 249 26, 28, 30 and 32 on

' Santa Fe avenue in Bond's addition to said city, and Lots numbered 3, 51
71 9, 119,131 1.51 17, 19; 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35,;379 39, 41,
53, 552 57 61,63, 651D 67, 69 and 71 on Santa Fe avenue in .the Kansas
C
Wesleyan University addition to said city be and they are hereby condemned
as worn out, worthless and unfit for repair, and that said walks and each
of them be removed and -rebuilt and reconstructed as required by this
ordinance
Sec. 2.4 That the owner or owners of each of the several lots and
parts of lots mentioned in section one of this ordinance be and they are
hereby a required to :remove the sidewalks condemned by section one of this
ordinance, and to rebuild and redonstruct a same in the manner specified
in this ordinance on or before the day of , 1900.
Sec. 3. The sidewalk herein provided for shall be of even grade
throughout, to be determined by the city engineer;rand shall'%e-coristructed.

and shall be not less than five feet in width with the cuter edge thereof -
six . feet from th* lot line.
Im . The Commitee on Sidewalks shall, as soon as practicable a.ftglr the
�day of , 1900, cause such sidewalk to be reconstructed

in sectign`"oneof this ordinance whose owners fail to remove and rebuild
said wal*s as -r''��equired by this ordinance, and shall(_),port its proceedings
together with the length of walk so constructed and rebuilt along each
parcel of said real estate and lots, and -the actual expense thereof, to
the city council.
Sec. 5. The expense of removing and rebuilding ssuch walks by
said committee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon
and collected as other taxes against said real estate
Sec. 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication once in the Salina Daily Republican -Journal.
