An Ordinance defining certain misdemeanors and providing for the pun-
ishment of the same.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That any male person who shall appear in or upon any
street, avenue or public place in said city in the dress or attire of a
female person, or any femal ; aO,.who shall appear in or -upon any
street, avenue or public place .c'''ity in the dress or attire of a
male person, shall be deemed guilty`meanor, and, upon convic-
tion thereof shall be fished by a fine�:Fhore than ten dollars.
Sec. 2. That any person being the owner 4ip� nt or agent of any
premises fronting or abuuting on any street of avenue of said city, and
there being a.sidewalk on either side or -end of said premises, who shall
not, within three hours after beitig notified by the city marshal so to
do, remove all snow, ice or dirt from said sidewalk shall be deemed
-guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall3m be pun-
ished by a fine not exceeding ten dollars.
Sec. 3. That any person who shall -wilfully deface or injure ansl
house, shop, store or other building, or any door, window, -awning or
other thing pertaining to a part of such house, sho store or other
building; or sever therefrom, or from any premises thereto appertaining
any gate or other portion of any enclosure or improvement of any kind
thereunto belonging, or in any manner do injury thereto; or shall sever
or destroy, or in any manner wilfully injure any teee, shrub or other
produce thereof therein growing for use, shade or ornament, shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be
punished 'by a fine of not ed±mKx$�&wI-kzx9r'r less than one nor more
than twenty-five dollars.
Sec. 4. That any person who.shall tear.down, deface, mutilate,
obscure or otherwise injure any wtitten,or printed poster or hand bill
or other advertisement which shall have been lawfully psted, nailed or
otherwise posted for a lawful purpose within the city, shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall. be punished
by a fine of not less than one nor more than twenty-five dollars.
Sec. 5:. That any person or persons who shall sell, or offer or
expose for sale, any unwholesome, decaying or stale food or provisions
of any kind,.or who shall sell, or offer or expose for sale any adul-
terated milk, butter, lard or other article of provision, shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punish -
d by- a fine' not exceeding ten dollars.
Sec. 6. That any person or persons who shall drag or cause to be
dragged along any street, avenue or alley of the city of Salina between
the hourss of 9 o'clock A. M. and 9 o'clock P. M. the carcass of any dead
animal, or any offensive offal,; xx or who shall between said hours lead,
dive or cause to be leed or driven through the streets or alleys of said
city any animal suffering with or having any contagious or dnagerous
disease, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and,upon conviction
thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more, than twenty-five dollars.
Sec. 7. That any person or persons whoshall injure, uncover, dig
up, pull up or in any.manner remove, deface or destroy any stake, stone
or monument establsih.ed or located in any place in said city for gxx the
purpose of marking the boundary of any lot, street, avenue,.alley or
public ground of said city, or established or located for the purpose of
igzatixg.xx determining the location ot"rades, shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a
fine in any sumnot exceeding ten dollars:
Sec. 8. That it shall be unlawfu o -erect or construct any wooden
awnings over any sidewalk or the fire limits of the city
of Salina; and any pet s� ` , . c nstruct or cause to be constructed
any such wooden awni 'er any sidewalk or sidewalks within.the fire
limits of said city shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon
conviction thereof, shall be fined .in .any sum not exceeding fifty dollars
Sec. That no sign orother advertising device, or awning, shall
be const cted or maintained upon, across or projecting over any street

visions of this section shall be adjuty of a misdemeanor, and
shall, upon conviction thereof before the p",judge, be fined in any
sum not less than one nor more than ten dollars. Provided, that each
dayts maintenance of such sign, advertising device ,or awning, after such
�Oonviction, shall be deemed a`,:0eparate offense.
Sec. That this ordinance shall take.effect &nd.be in force from
