ORDINANCE NO. 1031.
An ordinance providing for the condemnation, removal and construction of
certain sidewalk in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor- and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That all and each of the following described side-
walks, in said city, to -wit: ''the walk on Front street in front of and
adjacent to Lots numbered 54, 55, 56 and 57, in said city, and the walk
on Fifth street in front of and adjacent to Lots numbered 50, 52, 54, 56,
58, 68; 70, 72, 74, 76, 78, 90, 92, 94, 969 100, 102, 104, 1069 108,
124, 130, 132, 134, 136, 138, 49, 51, 539 55, 57, 59, 67,. 69, 71, 13,

Sec. .2::'1ha" he owner or owners of each of the several lots and
parts of lots mentione4 In ;section 1 of this ordinance be and they are
hereby rewired to remove the sidewalks condemned by section 1 of this
ordinance, and to rebuild and reconstruct such slAe in the manner
specified in this ordinance on or before the ";"day of ,1900.
Sec. 3. The sidewalk herein provided for shall a of len grade
throughout, to be determined by the city engineer, and shall be con--
constructed�,of a good quality of flagstone or vitrified brick.. The walk

not less than eight feet wide, and all other,walks on;Santa Fe avenue as
herein required to �'be removed and rebuilt •sholl be not less that sixteen
(16) feet wide. All other walks required by,t his:ordinance to be rebuilt
shall be not less than five (5) feet wide, and the outer edge thereof
shall be six feet from the lot line.
Seca 4. `The Committee on Sidewalks. shall, as soon, as practicable
after the �-- day of 1900, cause such sidewalks to be re-
constructed in front of, alon and adjacent to all or any of the premises
deecribed'in Section I of this ordinance, whose owners fail to remove -
and
and rebuild said walks as required by this ordinance, and shall.report'
its proceedings, together with the length of walk so constructed and
rebuilt along each parcel of said real estate and lots, and the actual
expense thereof, to.the City Council..
See. 5. The expense of removing and rebuilding such walks by
said committee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon
and colledted as other taxes against said real estate.
Sec. 6 This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once in the Salina Daily a ublican4Journal.
