ORDINANCE No.1630,
An Ordinance providing for the construction of certain sewers in the
city of Salina and.letting the contract therefor.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina:
Section 1. That it is necessary and hereTy_or eco re_c -that the fol-
lowing described sewers be built and constructed in the city of Salina,
Kansas, to -wit:
A ten inch lateral sewer on Ninth street, commencinil ajt ;ahie
manhole on said street South of the tracks.of the Missouri Pacific
Railroad, thence North for a distance of .Three Hundred Fifty-five
(355) feet, more or less, together with one manhole and two catch baso
ins,
Sec. 2, That the plans and specifications of the city engine®r
for such sewers as are mentioned and described in section one hereof,
now on file with the city clerk, are hereby adopted and approved as the
plans and specifications for the sewers provided for herein, and such
plans and specifications are hereby incorporated in and made a pat of
this ordinance in all respects as if the same were written out in full
herein, and such work herein and such !dans and specifications provided
for shall be done in accordance with plans and specifications, and
under the direction of the city engineer, of the city.of Salina..
Sec, 3, That a contract be and is hereby let to D.G.Stack for
the building and construction of the sewer described in this ordi»
nance at and for the following price, viz.- for building said sewer,
including all work -and mat-erial necessary for the complete construct-
ion of the same, Ninety (90,') cents per lineal foot; for one manhole'
complete, $35.00; for the two catch basins complete, 366,00, and which
such price or prices is and are less than the estimated cost of such
sewer as made and prepared by the city engineer and now on file with
the city clerk,
Sec. 4. The cost and expense of constructing such sewer shall be
assessed against all lots and pieces of ground contained in the city of
Salina, as a sewer district, as provided by Ordinance N0.613, of the
printed ordinances of said city, passed and approved December 23,1887,
and that the mayor and council are hereby authorized to provide for
the payment of the costthereof by issuing city of Salina scrip made
payable on or before one year after date and drawing interest at the
rate of six 6 a per cent i

Sec.. This ordinance shall take effect and... -,bo in force from and
after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal.
