ORDINANCE NO.&I&g
An ordinance amending Sections three (3), and five (5) of
Ordinance No. 1552, passed and approved April 18, 1910, and re-
pealing such original sections so amended.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That sections three (3), faw=444 and five (5) of
Ordinance No. 1552, passed and approved April 18, 1910, and being an
ordinance entitled "An ordinance relating to and levying a license tax
on public vehicles used for carrying and transporting passengers or
merchandise for pay in the city of Salina, regulating and prescribing the
rights and duties .of the owners and drivers of such vehicles, prescrib-
ing penalties for the violations of this ordinance, and repealing Ordi,

nance No. 880, approved March 30, 1895; Ordinance No. 898, approved
August 24, 1895, Ordinance No. 1015 approved September 18, 1899 and-------

nd--____-section 34 of Ordinance No. 635, approved March 7,-1885, and all other
ordinances and parts of ordinances in -conflict with this ordinance," be
amended as in this ordinance provided.,
Sec. 2. That section 3 of said Ordinance No. 1552 be amended so as
to read as f ollows:
"CLERK-ITO ISSUE LICENSE. Sec. 3. The license provided for in this
ordinance shall be issued by the city clerk and shall be signed by the
mayor and clerk and countersigned by the city treasurer, with the cor-
porate seal of the city prefixed thereto, and shall recite -the number
of the license, the name of the person to*whom issued, the amount paid
for such license, a description of the°vehicle licensed and the character
of the business in which it is to engage; but no license shall be issued
until the person appl ing therefor shall produce to and file wit, the
clerk the receipt of � e city treasurer showing the payment of the
amount required by this.ordinance to be paid for any such license."
Sec. & That secti �" zP%d nce No. 1552 be amended so as
to read as follows :Y 'aLiiv�p��
"TERM OF LICENSE. Sec. 5. No license shall be issued under this
ordinance for a less sum than the respective annual rates specified
in section four hereof and every such license when issued, shall be
good for one year or the ma.4or portion thereof, expiring for any such
pear, or portion thereof on the last day of June or the last day o
December next after the date of the issuance of any such license. All
such licenses shall be non -assignable but the same may be revoked by
the mayor and council uponthe conviction of the licensee of having
violated any of the provisions of this ordinance.No license shall be
granted to any person under eighteen years of age."
Sec 7��1n5.`. That original sections three (3), f and five (5)
of -said Ordinance No. 1552 be and the same and each of them are hereby
repealed.
Sec. C. This ordinance shall take'eff ect and be in force from and
after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal.
