ORDINANCE NO. b
An ordinance letting -the contract for the curbing and guttering of both
sides of Ninth street, in the city of Salina, between South street
and the main line tracks of the.Union Pacific railroad.
Whereas, under the provisions of Ordinance No.1609 the mayor and
council have decided to curb and gutter -Ninth street, in the city of
Salina, between the north side of South street and the south side of
the main line tracks Of the Union Pacific Railroad compay crossing said
Ninth street; and,
Whereas, proposals for doing such curbing and guttering have been
filed with the Ait c�lerk and examined by the mayor and council and

the proposal of is hereby found and determined to be the
most satisfactory and responsible proposal for such curbing and gutter-
ing, and the cost thereof under such proposal does not exceed the
_.estimated cost_.of such work and improvement as heretofore made by the
"city engineer and now on file with the city clerk; therefore,
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina:-
TSection1.. That a contract be and is hereby let to YA
f or the curb ing and guttering of Ninth street in said city�
between the
4orth side of South street and the main line track of the Union Pacific
railroad crossing said street, with cement curbing and guttering as
specified and described in the plans and specifications of the city
engineer therefor now on file with the city clerk, at and for the
uniform price of 6D cents per lineal few
foot for the lineal feet of curbing and guttering actually laid, cone
strutted and put in place on said street and as computed and measured
by the said city engineer.
ISec. 2. That such curbing and guttering shall be built and
constructed in accordance with the glans and specifications therefor
prepared by the city engineer, which such plans and specifications
are hereby made a part of this ordinance and of the contract hereby
awarded.
Sec. 3. The city attorney is hereby dir4oted to make and prepay
a contract with the sai

improvement herein provided for, and the mayor and city clerk shall
execute said contract for and on beh&lf of said city of Salina..
Sec. 4. !his ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once in th4 Salina Evening Journal,
