An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sewers, manholes
and catch basins, letting the contract therefor rid pproviding for
the issuance of.lmproveme t bonds in.the:sum ,500.00, and
appropriating the sura of , to .pay for succi sewer .
Be it ordained" by the Mayor and Councilmen of the ."city of . Salina: --
Section 1. That the following sewers, manholes and catch basins
be built and constructed in 'the city of Salina,: Kansas,. to= -wit: 1030
;feet of ten inch sewer on .South street between Twelfth street and a point
fifteen feet west of the, gest , line of College avenue; 43 feet of sewer
running south on Twelfth, street; 37 feet running north on Baker street;
48 "feet running"" .south on Phillips street; 35 feet running north on
Phillips street; 44 'feet'ruxining south -on College avenue, and 44 feet
on Eleventh.street, all of'said sewer"on the streets above wed branch-
ing off from -said South street sewer; five. manholes at, the following,
locations: one at'Fleventh street and South street, one at Twelfth and
South, one at Baker'and South, one at Phillips.and South and one at
College avenue and South street', four catch basins at Phillipa "and South
streets, two catch basins on South street.between.-Fourth and Fifth..
streets, one at each of the four corners of South and, Fifth streets,
one at Ninth and South; two at South and Tenth and two at South and
Twelfth streets m6one flush tank at South and Tenth streets �
Sec. 2. That a contract be -and is hereby let to L. H. Lyon for ,..
the construction of the improvements mentioned.and described in section
one hereof , at, -and for tht total constract price of $1, 569.65, siioh ".
price being within,the estimate of the cost of such work and improve -
merit heretofore made by the city engineer,,and such work and improvement
shall be done in accordance with.the city engineer's specifications
theraf�ir and according .to .his direction.
Sec 3. For the purpose of paying for such. work and improvement,
the mayor and council are hereby authorized to and do -issue improvement,
bonds of the city of Salina, in the sum of $1600.00. Such issue of
bonds shall consist ' of two. bondd of the denomination of .$?60.00 each,
maturing January l., 1911, drawing interest from' their date at the rate
of six per cent per annum,. with semi-annual interest ma�pa� ou'one for
such interest attached, "and said bonds'ehall be dated. xx December
31, 1910, and issued and egistered according to law,, which said bonds,
together with the sum o 6, which is hereby appropriated out of the
city treasury, shall be received by said _L.' H. Lyon- -in full payment for
all the work embraced,in-this ordinance.'
Sec. 4. Themayor" and cityclerk are hereby -instructed to
prepare and execute said bonds and to deliver the 'same to `said contractor
.upon the completion of the work and improvement herein provided for.
Sec . 5. ''The mayor' and council shall make pro visi,or' .for the pay-
ment of said bonds at their maturity by levying an aasseasment, for the
year 1911, against all.the property included in the city of.Salina.as
one sewer district sufficient to cover the amount thereof.
Sec, 6.' This ordinance shall take effect and be .in force. from and
after its publication once in ,the Salina 19vening Journal.
