(p An ordinance amending sub -section ten (10) of Section two (2) of Ordi- nance No. 1557, passed and approved June 30, 1910 and repealing such original sub -section of such section so amended. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: -- Section 1. That sub -section ten (10) of Section two (2) of Ordi- Nance No. 1557, passed and approved June 30, 1910, being an ordinance entitled "An ordinance relating to and providing for the levy and col- lection of a license tax upon. and regulating, certain callings, trades, professions and occupations conducted, pursued and carried on or oper- ated within the city of Salinap prescribing punishment for the violation of the same, and repealing Ordinance No..795, approved February 15, 1892; Ordinance No. 815, approved November 21, 1892, Ordinance No. 967, ap- proved June 13, 1898, Ordinance No. 1365, approved February 26, 1907, Ordinance No. 1387, approved August 19, 1907, Ordinance No. 1403, ap- proved March 2, 1908, and all other, ordinances and parts of ordinances In conflict with this.ordinance," be amended so as to read as follows: X "10. The sum of $.tQ � ver year, on the business and occu- pation of express companies, corporations or agencies, in receiving pack- ages in this city from persons in the city and transmitting the same by express from this city in this state to persons and places within the State of Kansas; and receiving in this city packages by express trans- mitted within this state from persons and places in this state to per- sons within this city and delivering the,same to persons in this city, excepting the receipt, transmission and delivery of any such packages to and from any department, agency or agent of the United States, and ex- cepting the receipt, transmission and delivery of any such packages •.7hich are inter -state commerce --the business and occupation of receiving, z transmitting and delivering of the padkages herein excepted is not taxed hereby .
