1561 Revoke Electric & Gas Franchise(Published in the Safina Evening Journal July' 1910)
ORDINANCE NO.�
An ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 1548, passed and approved March 28,
1910, and revoking and uki annulling the franchise thereby granted,
and all rights and liabilities thereunder.
Whereas, on the 28th day of March, 1910, the mayor and council of
the city of Salina, by Ordinance No. 1548, that day duly passed.and ap-
proved and thereafter, on the 30th day of March, duly published in the
official city paper, as required by law, granted to one C. H. Randle, his
successors and assigns, the right to use the streets and alleys in said
for and to install, operate and maintain in said city a gas and electric
light and power plant; and,
Whereas, said C. H. Randle did, on or about the 29th day of April,
1910, file with the city clerk of said city his acceptance of such or-
dinance No. 1548, and did, thereafter, on the 18th day of May, 1910,
duly execute and acknowledge an assignment of said Ordinance No. 1548,
and all of his right, title and interest in and to the same, to one H.
L. McCracken, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, which such acceptance and assignment,
aforesaid, are on file with the city clerk and are hereby specially
referred to and made a part of this ordinance; and,
Whereas, the said H. L. McCracken did, on the 25th day of June,
to said city,
1910, in writing, duly surrender for cancellation, said Ordinance No.
1548 and.surrender and release all his right, title and interest in, to
or under said ordinance and the franchise granted thereby, which said ,
surrender and release is on file with the city clerk and is hereby
specially referred to and made a part of this ordinance; therefore,
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen 'of the City of Salina:—
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1548, passed and approved March 28,
1910, and being an ordinance entitled "An ordinance granting to C. H.
Randle, his successors and assigns, for a period of twenty years, the
right to use the streets and alleys in the city of Sblinm, Kansas, to
lay pipes or Bond uits, erect poles therein, and to string wires and place
fixtures thereon, necessary to install, operate and maintain a gas,
electric light and power and heating plant or plants in said city" be
and the same is hereby repealed and annulled, and the franchise granted
thereby and thereunder, and all rights and liabilities of the said grantee
and his assignee thereof, are hereby revoked, rescinded, annulled and
cancelled.
