the purpose of providing a fund top y in
extending Fifth street and the alley imedSalinas
elyand pro providing for the
Hutchinson's addition to the city of Salina,
payment thereof •
Whereas, appraisement has been made of the benefits to accrue to
the owner or owners of all .the lots and pieces of ground contained within
the benefit district created by Ordinance No.* 1479 of said city, which
said Ordinance No- 1479 is hereby made a part of this ordinance, to pay
for the opening and extending of . Fifth street., fifty feet in width, and
the twelve foot alley immediately west thereof, from their present
termini in Hutchinson's addition north to intersect with Bond street, and
the report of said appraisers is on file with the city clerk and so much
thereof as relates to the apportionment and distribution of the benefits
accruing to the owner or owners of said lots. and pieces of ground by
reason of the opening and extending of 50-d street and alley is hereby
approved and made a part of this ordinance; therefore,

Section 1• That there is hereby assessed and apportioned amongst
and against the folllowing described lots and pieces of ground contained
within said benefit district created by said Ordinance No. 1479 the fol-
lowing &,mounts as and for benefits accruing to the owner or owners of
said lots and pieces of ground for the opening and extending of said Fifth
street and said twelve foot alley inmmediately west thereof, and as a nd
for a fund to pay for the land and groundaken therefor, the following

Secy 2. That the eold owner or owners of said lots and pieces of
ground described in section one hereof shall pay to the city treasurer,
of Salina, Kansas, on or before the 17th day of July, 1909, the said
amounts herein assessed against the same as and for a fund to pay for
the taking of the property necessary to open and extend said Fifth
street and said alley, should the mayor and council hereafter determine
to open and extend said street and alley, and such owner or owners shall
take the said treasurer is receipt for such .isums so paid to him hereunder.
Sec. 3. Said sums of money so paid to said city treasurer shall be
4 him kept in a separate fund, apart from all other funds in his.hands,
and shall be retained by him to be'disposed of as the mayor and council
may hereafter direct•
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from a -A
after its publication .once in the dsfficial city paper.
