1492 Street Improvements(published in the Salina Evening Journal May___., 1909 ) ORDINANCE NO. An ordinance letting the contract for the curbing and guttering of certain streets in the city of Salina, Kansas. Whereas, under the previsions of Ordinances numbered 1472, 1477, 1485 and 1486 the mayor and council decide4-to pave, curb and gutter the streets and parts of streets in such ordinances described; and, Whereas, proposals for doing such curbing and guttering of said s$reets and parts of streets have been filed with the city clerk and such proposals have been examined by the mayor and council and the proposal of .�;V I w:•le-1w,1.fl�? �°i ;' is hereby found and determined to be the most satisfae6vey and responsible proposal for such curbing and gut6ering, and the cost of such curbing and guttering under such proposal does not exceed the estimate of the cost of $ueh curbing and guttering as heretofore made by the city engineer of said city and now on file with the city clerk; zKA*., therefore, Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina: -- Section 1• That a contract be and is heireby let t for the curbing and guttering of the following stre,cts and parts of strr-eta in the city of Salina, Kansas, to -wit.: Walnut street, between the west side of Seventh street and the west side of Tenth street; Iron avenue between the east side of the Iron avenue bridge crossing the Smoky Hill River and the west side of Pnnn avenue, and Eighth street between the north side of Prescott avenue and the south side of Ash street, with cement curbing and guttering, as specified and described in the plans and specifications of the city engineer now on file with the city clerk, at and for the uniform price of =- cents per lineal foot for the lineal feet of curbing and guttering actually laid, constructed and put in place on said streets, as computed and measured by the city engineer, such prices being the.prices give and specified in the proposal of the said which are hereby approved and accepted. Sec. 2• That such curbing and guttering shall be done in accordance with the plans and specifications of the city angineer and such specifi- cations and plans and every part thereof are hereby made a part of this ordinance and of the contract hereby awarded. Seci 3. The city attorney is hereby instructed to prepare a contract with the saidfor the work and improvement .herein provided for, in accordancewith the city engineer's said plans and specifications and said Ordinances numbered 1472.1,1487, 1485 and 1486, and that the mayor and xzxxmft city clerk execute said contract on behalf of said city.
