An ordinance specifying the material to be used and letting the contract
for the paving and excavating of certain,streets in the city
of Salina, Kansas`•
Wkereas, under the provisions of Ordinance No. 1472,

as amended by Ordinance No. 1485, and Ordinance No. 1486, the
mayor and council of said city decided and determined to pave, curb and
gutlgr the streets and parts of streets in such ordinances named and de-
scribed; and,
Whereas, proposals for doing such paving, curbing and guttering of
kjum:xk&vx said streets and parts of streets with different kinds of street
paving have been filed with the cite clerk, and such proposals have been
exanined by the said mayor and council and the proposal ® Xz
is hereby found and determined to be the most sat -

isfactory and responsible proposal for the kind and character of pavement
hereinafter designated and selected by the said mayor and council, and
the cost of such paving and excavating under such proposal, for the kind
and character of pavement so seledted and designated does not exceed the
estimate of the cost of such paving and excavating and such work and im-
provement is heretofore made by the city engineer of said'eity and now on
file with the city clerk, • and,
W).ereas-, the said,mayor and council hereby determine that all of the
streets hereinafter described and which are to be paved under this and
said Ordinances nw�bered. 14729 1477, 1485 and 1486.shall be paved with

streets and parts of streets. in said ordinances described; therefore,

Section 1• That a contract be and is hereby let and awarded to

excavating of the following streets and parts of streets in the city of
r Salina, Kansas: Walnut street, between the west side of Seventh street
and the..west side of Tenth street; Iran avenue, between the east and of
the Iron avenue Bridge crossing the Smoky Hill River and.and the west
side of Penn avenue, and Eighth street, between the north side of Pres-
cott avenueand the south side of Ash street; all to be paved with one
course of __ brick paving bl®cks, laid as a five inch concrete
foundation,with sand filler, at and for the uniform price of-�-,

Sec. 2. That such paving and excavating shall be done in accord-
ance with the plans and specifications of the city engineer for the kind
of paving herein selected and determined upon, and such specifications
