An ordinance permitting a certain use of a portion of Ninth street abutting the dpot platform of the Union Pacific Railroad in the city of Salina, for the purposes and upon the conditions herein named, and prescribing penalties for the violation hereof. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: -- Section I. ' For the purpose of furnishing a mode of loading and un- loading passengers on and off the -cars of the Salina Street and Inter9 urban Bailway at the U*ion Pacific depot, on Ninth street, in the city of Salina, Kansas, the right and privilege is hereby given to said Salina Street and Interurban railway .company to construct and maintain a land- ing or platform on said Ninth street, on the south or southwest side of the trakks of said street. railway of approximately the following di- mens i- mensions, to -wit: commencing at the point where the south or southwest rail of said tracks .intersect with the present depot platform of said Union Pacific railroad axed running southeasterly along said 11M rail a distance of not more than eighteen feet, thence southwesterly and at right angles with such south or soutwestern rail a distance of four and one-half feet, thence northeasterly to connect with such Union Pacific de- pot platform to a point on the east edge of said platform which would-be not more than ,six feet on a at right angles with and from the said south or southwestern rail of said street car track. Sec. 2. That such landing or platform shall be buuilt and con- structed of stone or macadam, and shall not extend above the top of the maintained r rails of .said street railway, and shall be built and zatia at the expense of said Salina Street and Interurban railway company.; Provided, however, that the right 4nd privilege to use said portion of said Ninth street as herein provided shall be subject at all times to the right of the city of Salina to change or discontinue the sane.. Sec. 3. It is hereby made a misdemeanor for any person to drive or stand ' any . tuagon, omidbus, hack, or other vehic,l¢, upon such p&atform jjr landing described in section one hereof, after the same is constructed, as provided in this ordinance, and any person violating this ordinance in such regard shall be fined in any sum not exceeding twenty-five dol lars.
