1487 Sidewalk Improvements(Published in the Salina Evening Journal Mayes, 1909• ) ORDINANCE N0. An ordinance providing for -the construction of certain sidewalk -in the city of Salina, Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina: -- gection 1• That the owner or owners of all the.real estate abutting on the west side of Santa Fe avenue from Woodland avenue, in the Pacific addition to said city, notth for a distance.of one hundred fifty (150) feet, more or less, in the city of Salina, are hereby required tp con- struct, or cause to be constructed, on or before the cpOl4�pday of June, 1909, a sidewalk in front of and adjacent to said real property, of such material and in such manner and width as required by the provisions of Ordinance No. 1038 of the printed ordinances of said city. Sec. 2. The committee on sidewalks of the city council shall, as soon as practicable after the said.0._may of June,; 1909, cause .such sidewalk to be constructed, as herein and in said Ordinance No. 1038 provided, where such owner or owners fail or refuse to so construct the same, and shall report.their.proceedings together with the length of walk so con- structed and the cost thereof to the city council. Sec. 3. The expense of.constructing said walk by said committee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon according to the front foot thereof, and certified and collected as other taxes against said real estate - See. 4.
