ORDINANCE No.
An ordinance amending sections one (1) and two (2) of Ordinance No. 1477,
passed and approved April 19, 1909, being an ordinance entitled "An
ordinance providing for the paving, curbing, guttering and exca-
vating Eighth street, in the city of Salina, Kansas, between the
south side of Ash street and the north side of Prescott avenue,
excepting the square or area formed by the crossing of said Eighth.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina: --
Section 1. That section one (1) or Ordinance No. 1477, passed and
approved April 19, 19092 be and the same is hereby amended so as to read
as follows, to -•wit:
Section 1. That it is necessary and hereby ordered that Eighth
street, in the city of Salim, between the south side of Ash street and
the north side of Prescott avenue, excepting the square or area formed
by the crossing Of said Eighth street with Iron avenue, be paved, with
such material as the mayor and council may hereafter designate and select,
as hereinafter provided, forty (40) forty feet in width, more or less,
except at the intersections of.streets and alleys where such pavement
shall be eighty (80) feet in width, or from lot line to lot line .2
se0i-2• That section two (2) of Ordinance No. 1477,. passed and
approved April 19, 1909, be and the same is hereby amended/so as to
read as follows, to -wit:
Sec. 2. That it is necessary and hereby ordered that Eighth street
;between the limits defined in section -one hereof, be curbed and '
guttered
on both sides thereof, -with cement curbing and guttering, such curbing and
guttering to be made and constructed as a combined curb and gutter,.the
curb part of the same to be six (6) inches in thickness and the gutter
Pa -0t of the same to be thirty (30) inches, more or less, from the back
edge of such curb to the edge of such 'paving, and such curbing shall be
set twenty (20) feet from and parallel with the let line on either side
of said street, except at the intersooti®ns of streets and alleys, where
such curb and-'"g%tter shall return to the lot line o "aid Eighth street.
Sec. 3. That sections one (1) and two (2) of Ordinance No. 1477
be and the same, and each of them, are hereby repealed.,
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after .its p ubleation once in the SalinaEuening Journal•
