1478 Opening Alley - Bond's Addition(Published in the Salina Evening Journal April M 909.)

An ordinance opening and creating a certain alley in*Block One, Bond's
addition, in and to the city of Salina, Kansas.
Whereas, by virtue of Ordinance No. 1471 of the city of Salina,
passed and approved March 15, 19099 the mayor and council of said city
declared it necessary to open a fifteen (15) foot alley in the center of
Mock One (1), Bond's addition; running from Crawford avenue to Bond
street in said addition, and,
Whereas, by virtue of said Ordinance No'* 1471 three householders of
said city were appointed to assess and determine the amount of damage
sustained by the person or persons whose land or lot is wholly or par-
tially taken or impaired by the opening and creation of such alley, and,
Whereas, such householders have duly qualified and have assessed
and determined such damages and have made a report in writing to the
mayor and council of their acts and doings under said Ordinance No. 1471,
all as required by law, which said report is hereby approved, and all
damages so assessed and determined have been paid to the parties and
persons entitled to the same., and no appeal has been taken from the
decision of such householders within the time pro-7ided by law; therefore,
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmne of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That a fifteen (15) foot alley be and the same is hereby
opened and created in the center of *t Block One (1), Bond's addition
in and to the city of Salina, Kansas, running north and south between
Crawford avenue and Bond street in said addition, and that the east
seven and one-half 0 1/2) feet of Lots numbered one (1) to thirty-one.
(31), inclusive, and the west seven and one-half (7 1/2) feet of Lots
numbered two (2 ) and thirty-two (32), inclusive, in said Block One (1),

Bondts addition, be and the sane *a hereby condemned and appropriated for
such alley•
Sec. 2 • That the city engineer is hereby instructed to make the
necessary measurements and survey and set the necessary stakes for the
designation of the said alley so opened and created, and the street com-
missioner of said city is hereby.directed.to clear such alley of any
buildings of fences within the limits thereof, at the expense of the
owner or owners of said buildings or fences.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its puh7_ieatior once in the official city paper.
