AREAS, on the first day of March, 1909, a petition, signed by
the owners of the property hereinafter specifically defined, and two plats
of the lots and blocks affected by the change prayed for therein, as
re#ired by law,-$ were filed with the city clerk of the city of
Salina, asking the mayor and council of said city to change the front-
age of all the lots in block one (1), and of certain lots in blocks two
(2), three (3), four (4) and six (6),.in Morrison's Third addition to
the city of Salina, and to make other changes in such addition, as in
said petition requested and set forth; and,
WHEREAS, after examining, considering and determining such ?eti-
tion and the plats accompanying the same, and it appearing to the mayor
and council that the public interest and convenience will in no way be
prejudiced by the proposed change or changes as asked for in said peti-
tion, and that such change or changes should be allowed and mage,, there-
fore,
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: --
Section 1. That Washington avenue, in said Morrison's Third addi-
tion, as it has heretofore existed, from the west side of Twr fth street
west to the right of way of the Missouri Pacific railroad, and the fif-
teen (15) foot alley running east and west through blocks one, two,
three and four, as heretofore existing, be vacated, annulled and dis-
continued, as prayed for in said petition.
Sec 2. That -.the frontage of lots 1, 2, 3, 41 5, 61 71 81 99 10,
11 and i2; in Block one (1), as heretofore platted aWt being, and of the
lots and parts of lots in.Block six (6) lying between College avenue
and the east side of West street, extended, as heretofore platted and
being, be changed from north and south to east and west; and a fourteen
(14) foot alley be laid out and established north and south through
said blocks one and six half way between and parallel with College ave-
nue and West street, from Morrison avenue on the north to the south line
of said Morrison's Third addition, all as shown and described by plat
marked "Exhibit B", attached to said petition, and that such lots as
replatted and re -fronted shall be of the number, size and frontage as
set forth and delineated in said plat m3Lrked Exhibit a
Sec. 3. That the frontage of Lots numbered 7, 8, 9,10, 11 and 12,
in Block No. Two (2) of said addition,.as heretofore platted and being,
and of the lots and parts of lots in Block six (6) lying between Phil-
lips street and College avenue, as heretofore platted and being, be
changed from north and south to east and west; and a four6een (14) foot
alley be laid out and established north and south through said blocks
two and six half way between and parallel with College avenue and Phil-
lips street, and extending from the center of the present alley running
east and west in the center of said block as heretofore platted and
being south to the south line of said Morrison's Third addition, all as
shown and described by plat marked "Exhibit B," attached to said peti-
tion, and that such lots as re -fronted and re -platted shall be of the
number, size and fro*cage as set forth and delineated in said plat
marked fthibit B.
Sec. 4. That the frontage of Lots numbered 1, 21 39 41 9116,11,
12, 13, 14, 15 and 16, in Block No. Three (3), as heretofore platted
and being, and of the lots and parts of lots in Block leo. Six (6) lying
between Phillips street and Twelfth street, as heretofore platted and

being, be changed from north and south to east and west;. and,4foutteen
(14) foot alley be laid out and established north and south through
said blocks three and six half way between and parallel with Phillips
and Twelfth streets, and extending from Morrion avenue to the south line
of said Morrison's Third addition, all as shown and descaibed by plat
marked "Exhibit B" attached to said petition, and that such lots and
parts of lots as re -platted and refronted shall be of the number, size
and frontage as set forth and delineated in said plat marked Exhibit B.
Sec. 5. That the frontage of Lots numbered one (1)'to fourteen
(14), inclusive,

foot alley be laid out and established north and south through said
block ) half way between and parallel with Eleventh and Twelfth streets,
and extending from Morrison avenue to Washington avenue, all as shown and
descaibed by plat marked "Exhibit B" attached to said petition, and that
such lots as re -fronted and re -platted shall be of the number, size and
frontage as set forth and delineated in said plat marked Exhibit B.
Sec. 6. That so much of Block Six (6) in said Morrison's Third
addition, as heretofore platted and being, and so much of Washington
avenue, as heretofore laid out and being, as may be necessary is hereby
taken and appropriated by the city of Salina for the opening and ex-
tending of College avenue, seventy (70) feet wide, and Phillips street,
seventy (70) feet in width, and Twelfth street, fifty (50) feet in width,
from their present termini on the south to the south line of said Mor-
rison's Third addition, as shown by plat marked "Exhibit B," attached
to said petition, said petitioners, H. H. Morrison and R. S. Morrison,
being the owners of the land and lots taken fvr such streets and the
alleys laid out and established by this ordinance, dedicating the same
to and for such purposes and waiving all damages by reason of the changes
herein made, as in said petition set forth, which said petition and the
plats attached thereto, are hereby specially referred to and made parts
of this ordinance.
Sec. 7. All costs and expenses incident to the re -fronting of the
lots and the changes in this ordinance made and described, including the
publication of this ordinance, shall be paid by the said petitioners.
Sec. 8. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication once in the
