ORDINANCE NO. /i4 �.o
An ordinance fixing the salaries of the Marshal, Assistant Marshal and
Policemen of the cit of Salina; prescribing their hours of ser-
vice, and repealing Ordinances numbered 882, 940 and 1147.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilm) of the city of Salina: --
Section 1. It shall be the duty of the city marshal to patrol the
streets and be and remain on duty from twelve o'clock noon to twelve
o'clock midnight; and the assistant marshal shall be on duty and patrol
the streets from twelve o'clock midnight to twelve o'clock noon; Provided,
that this section shall not preclude said officers from performing the
duties now or hereafter prescribed by law or oddinances.
Sec. 2. Said marshall shall receive as pay the sum of seventy (70)
dollars per month, payable at the end of each month, which shall be in
full compensation for all services.
Sec. 3. The duties, powers and privileges of the assistant city
marshal shall be the same as are now or shall hereafter be prescribed
for the city marshal, except as to the time he shall be on duty.
Sec. -4. The assistant city marshal shall receive the sum of sixty-
five (65) dollars per month, payable monthly at the end of each month,
which shall be in full compensation for all services.
Sec. 5. Each regular policeman of the city of Salina shall receive
for his services the sum of sixty (60) dollars per month, payable monthly,
which shall be in full compensation for all services; and easch special
policeman shall receive as pay for his services the sum of e& dollars
per day in full compensation for his services.
'Sec. 6. Ordinance No. 882, passed and approved April 16, 1895,
Ordinance leo. 940, gassed and approved June 21, 1897, and Ordinance No.
1147, passed and approved August 21, 1902, be and each of them are
hereby repealed.
Sec. 7. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication --:once in the Salina Evening Journal.
