ORD INANCE NO. v.
An ordinance providing fot the repairing, remode ling and .improving of the
building known as the "Cottage Hotel" building of the city of
Salina, Kasas•
Be it ordained by the May and Councilmen of the city of Salina: --
Section 1• That it is a necessary general improvement and hereby
ordered that the building owned by said city and known as the "Cottage
Hotel" building, situate on Lot 80, on Fifth street, in said city,, be
repaired, remodeled and improved so as to accommodate and provide for
an adequate paid fire departn*nt for said city.
Sec. 2. That the plans and specifications for the repairing, remod-
eling and improving of such building made by rand
now on file with. the city clerk of said city,, are hereby adopted and
approved as the plans and specifications for such work and improvement,
and the same are hereby specially referred to and mdde a part of this
ordinance, and the repairing,.remodeling and improving of such building
shall be made and done under and in accordance with such plans and spec -

doing of such work and the making of such improvements, the contract
for"such work and improvement is hereby let to said -
at and for the price of ' dollars, which
all
price shall include and does include the furnishing ofnlaber and material
for the work and improvement.embraced in such plans and specifications.
Sec. 4. That for the purpose of paying for the work and improvement
provided for herein, the mayor and council may issue the warrants of said
city, payable out of the general fund of the city, or the said mayor and
council may pay such cost by issuing the scrip of such city, made pay-
able in such amounts and at such times as the mayor and council may
hereafter` determine, bearing interest not to eceed six per cent per

annum; Pl,-dvided, that the total amount of such warranter scrip sots
issued shall not exceed the contract price of such work and improvement
so -herein a.
Sec. 5• This ordinance shall take effec and be in force from and
after its publication once in the "Salina Evening Journal."
