1455 Election Wards(Published in the Salina Evening Journal __ _ , 1908) ORD INANCE NO .111414� An ordinance dividing the city of Salina into wards, and repealing Ordinance No. 255, being an ordinance entitled "an ordinance nanceordi- idividiniothene of Ordinance No. city into wards;' approved itle Sept. 25, 1878." nanc e dividing Whereas, the city of Salina is a city of the second class with a population at this time in excess of eight thousand people; and, Whereas, it is advisable and to the best interests of the city of Salina that said city be re -districted and re -divided into wards; there- fore, Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:-- Section 1• That the city of Salina be and is hereby divided into five (5) 1mards, to be styled and known as First Ward, Second Ward, Third Ward, Fourth Ward and Fifth Ward. Sec. 2. That all that portion of the city lying north of Iron avenue and east of Santa Fe avenue shall constitute the First Ward; all that portion of the city lying north of Iron avenue and west of Santa Fe. avenue shall constitute the Second Ward; all that portion of the city lying west of Santa Fe avenue between Iron avenue and Prescott avenue shall constitute: the.Third Ward; all that portion of the city south of Iron avenue and Past of Santa Fe avenue shall constitute the Fourth Ward, and all that portion of the city lying south of Prescott avenue and sxx vest of Santa Fe avenue shall constitute the Fifth Ward. Sec. 3. That Ordinance No. 255, passed and approved February 28, 1879, being an ordinance entitled "an ordinance amending section one of Ordinance No. 234, entitled 'an ordinance dividing the city into warda,' approved Sept. 25, 1878," be and the same is hereby repealed.
