1454 Sidewalk Improvements
Published in the ORDINANCE No. 1 An Ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalk in the city of Salina, Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina: J Section 1,That the — ---- - - ----_.__- owner or owners all real estate abutting on the north'side of Claflin avenue, from the end of the present sidewalk west to Highland avenue;.on the north side of Kirwin avenue from Highland avenue-ea-st,- ter the McPherson branch railroad track; on the north side of Jewel avenue from Highland avenue east to the McPherson branch railroad tract; on the north side of Ellsworth avenue from Highland avenue east to.the McPherson brand railroad track; an the south side of Minneapilis avenue; from Highland avenue east to the McPherson branch railroad track; on the south side of Beloit avenue from Highland avenue east to the McPherson branch railroad track, and on the south side of Republic avenue fromt-Mighland avenue east to the McPherson branch railroad track, all in the grounds of the Kansas Wesleyan University Addition; also, on the north side of Morrison avenue between Tenth street and Phillips street; on the west side of Twelfth street between South street and Washington avenue; also Lot 1, block 5, Weil Place, Beebe's addition, in the city of Salina, Kansas, are hereby requir d to construct, or cause to be constructed, on or before the 21'st day of. - -�, 190' a side walk on the sides of the streets, between" -the limits t regi, hereinbef©re. described, and in front of the lots and pieces -of ground herein described, ordinance No.' 1038 is hereby incorporated in and made a part of this ordinance. Sects 2: That the committee on sidewalks of the city council shall, as soon as practicable after the said��-aay of 1.90 q- - cause such sidewalk as described in Section One hereof to be constructed as herein provided where such owner or owners fail, neglect.or refuse to build the same, as provided herein, and shall report their proceedings, together with the length and dimensions of the walk so constructed.by said committee and the actual expense thereof to the city council. Secy 3. The expense of constructing said walk by said committee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon according to .the front foot thereof, and collected as other taxes against such real estate _ - Sec•O '4.
