1416 Improve City Hall(Published in the Salina Evening Journal April, 1908) ORDINANCE NO. An ordinance providing for the repairing, remodeling and iUiproving of the City Hall building in the city of Salina. Be it ordained by the Mpyor and Councilmen of the city of Salina: -- Section' 1. That it is a necessary general improvviient and hereby ordered that the present city hall building, located and sitaate on the south half of Lot No. 91, on.Santa Fe avenue, in the city of Salina, Kansas, be repaired, remodeled and improved so as to accommodate and provide for the public business of said city, as in this ordinance provided. Nee. 2. That _the plans and specifications for the repairing, re- modeling and improving of such building, made by Wilmarth & Zerbe, ar- chitects� of Salina, Kansas, and now on file in the office of the city clerk, are hereby adopted and approved as- the plans and specifications for such work and improvement, and such plans and specifications are hereby specially referred to and incorporated in and made a part of this ordinance; and the repairing, remodeling and improving of such city building shall. be made and done under and in accordance with such plans and specifications. Sec. 3. That after the passage and publication of this ordinance, the city clerk shall advertise for bids for the work and improvement herein provided for, in the official city paper, for such time and upon such terms and conditions as the mayor and council may determine; and after the redeption of such bids the mayor and council may, and are - hereby authorized and empowered, to let the contract for such work and improvement to the lowest and most responsible bidder, the said -mayor and council reserving the right to reject any and all bids, and, if all bids are rejected, to re -advertise for bids or proposals. Sec. 4. That for the purpose of paying for the work and improvement provided for in this ordinance, the mayor and council may issue.the, warrants of said city, payable out of the general fund of the city; or, the said mayor and council array pay for the cost of such work and irm- 0 provement by issuing the scripI of such city, made payable in such amounts and at such tinesi eawleg:L as the mayor and council might hereafter determine, bearing interest not to exceed six per cent per annum; Provided, that the total amount of warrants or scrip to be issued hereunder for the purpose herein shall not exceed the contract price for such work and improvement.
