2236 Sidewalk Improvements1'. u 1 1 ORDINANCE NO. 2236 (Published in the Salina Daily Union February 1919) An ordinance providing for the construction of certain side- walks in the city of Salina, Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That the owner of owners of the following de- scribed lots and tracts of land in the City of Salina, Kansas, be and they are hereby required to construct or cause to be con- structed on or before the 1st day of June, 1919, a sidewalk in front of and adjacent to such lots and tracts of land as follows, to -wit: East side of Ninth Street from Grand Avenue to Otis Avenue; North side of Otis Avenue from Ninth Street to Santa Pe Avenue; South side of Pacific Avenel from Ninth Street to Santa Fe Avenue. Section 2. That all of the above mentioned sidewalks shall be constructed of the material and in the width and manner speci- fied and required by the provisions of Ordinances No. 1038, 1971 and 1974 of the City of Salina, Kansas, which said ordinances are hereby incorporated in and made a part of this ordinance, Section 3. The Committee on Sidewalks of the City Coun- cil shall as soon as practicable after the 1st day of June, 1919, cause any sidewalk herein mentioned to be constructed if the owner or owners liable for such construction shall fail, neglect or refuse to so construct the same within the time here- in provided and shall report their proceedings, together with actual expenses thereof to the City Council. Section'4. Expense of construction of said sidewalks by said committee, in event they construct the same, shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon according to the front foot thereof and collected as other taxes against said real estate are collected.
