An. ordinance bringing Kenwood Park within the City limits of the
city of Salina, Kansas.
WHEREAS, a certificate and plat has been duly prepared and
filed in the office of the Register of Deeds of Saline. County,
Kansas covering that tract of land known as "Kenwood Park" and
hereinafter more part icularly.,described; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Councilmen have presented to the
Board of County Commissioners of Saline County, Kansas, a petition
in writing, requesting them to make a finding and order that it
will be to the interest of the City of .Salina, Kansas, and will
cause no injuries to the persons owning that tract of land known
as "Kenwood Park" to add to and incorporate the same within the
limits of the City of Salina, Kansas; and
WHEREAS, a notice of such application has been duly published
in accordance with the statutes of the State of Kansas; and
WHEREAS, upon the 7th day of.October, 1918, said petition
was duly presented to the Board of County Commissioners of Saline
County Commissioners, upon said date made a finding and order that
it would be to the interest of the City of Salina, Kansas, and
would -cause no manifest injury to the persons owning that tract
of land known as "Kenwood Park" hereinafter more specifically
described.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the City limits of the City of Salina,
Kansas, be, and the same are hereby increased by adding to said
City the territory adjacent thereto known as "Kenwood Park" in
Saline County, Kansas, described by metes and bounds as follows,
to -wit:
Commencing at a point 8 chains east of the southwest corner
of the Northeast Quarter of Section 13, Township 14, South, Range
3 West in the center of the channel of the Smoky Hill River; thence
North, Northeasterly up said river about 16 chains; thence east,
northeasterly up said river about 22 chains; thence south, south-
easterly up said river about 24 chains to south line of said quarter
section; thence west on Quarter Section line 15.05 chains to place
of beginnin containing 31.77 acres more or less; being a part of
the South 1/2 of Northeast 1/4 of Section 13, Township 14, South,
Range 3 gest of the 6th P. M. Also commencing at a point in the
middle of the Smoky -Hill, River, 24 rods south from the northeast
corner of the Southwest. Quarter of Section 13, Township.14, South,
Range 3 West; thence running down said river to the middle of the
mouth of a Ravine some 25.75 rods thence up said ravine to the
County Road; thence Eas- _to the middle of the Smoky Hill River;
thence down the middle of said river to the east line of Quarter
Section thence north to the place of beginning, containing 4 acres
more or less, being a part of the east half of the southwest
Quarter of Section'13, Township 14 South, Range 3 West of the 6th
P. M. Also beginning at a point on the north line of the South-
east Quarter of Section 13, Township 14, South, Range 3 West, which
is in the center of the Smoky Hill River and 8 chains east of the
northwest corner of said%uarter Section ; thence east along the
Quarter Section line 19.105 chains to its second intersection with
the Smoky Hill'Rive;

said quarter section; thence north along the quatrer section
line' 9.25 chains to its second intersection with the Smoky
Hill River; thence northeast drly up the center of the channel
of said river to its intersection with the north line of said
quarter section which is the place of beginning, being all
that part of the north half of the southeast Quarter of Section
13,.Township 14 South, Range 3 West of the 6th Y. M. which
borders on the left bank of the Smoky bill River.
All in accordance with the certificate and plat hereto
fore filed in the office of the Register of Deeds of Saline
County, Kansas.
-Sec. 2. Said tract of land shall be known as "Kenwood
Park. Addition to the_ City of Salina, Kansas," all of said
described land being owned by the -City of Salina, Xa.nsas -as
a part of its Public Parks, and no part of the same is to
be divided
into
lots or blocks
nor
is any part thereof re-
served for
sale
or disposal by
the
said City.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
City paper.
