2210 Special AssessmentsORDINANCE NO..2210
An ordinance levying and assessing special assessments on
certain lots and pieces of ground- in -the city of Salina,
Kansas, to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, excavating,
paving and grading certain streets in -said City.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the .City of Salina:
Section 1. That for the purpose of paying the costs of
curbing, guttering, excavating, paving and grading of Penn Aven-
ue, in the city of Salina, Kansas from the north line of Iron
Avenue to the north line of Ash Street, described in Ordinance.
No. 2190; Santa Fe Avenue from the north line of the Union Pa-
cific Right of Way to the south line of the Union Pacific Right
of Way described in Ordinance 2083; and North Street from the
east line of Ninth Street to the west line of Fourth Street
described in Ordinance No. 2083, that there is hereby levied
and assessed against the property liable therefore, the same
being the property abutting on such streets on either side
thereof, for the purpose of such improvements without regard
to the buildings or improvements thereon, such special assess-
ments being based on the valuation of such lots and pieces of
ground heretofore made by three disinterested appraisers appoint-
ed by the Mayor and Council for the purpose of making such ap-
praisement which appraisement is hereby referred to and made a
part of this ordinance. The several amounts levied and assessed
against the lots and pieces of ground for the purpose aforesaid
are hereby found and determined to be as follows:

Sec. 2. Amounts so lievied and assessed shall be paya-
ble and due from and after the publication of this ordinance.
The City Clerk of the city of Salina, Kansas, shall certify to
the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, in the same manner
and at the same time as other taxes are certified for the year
1919, all of the above special assessments, which have not been.
paid within thirty days after the publication of this Ordinance
together with interest on such amounts in the sum of 4-3/4% per
annum, and such amount so certified shall be placed on the tax
roll and collected as other taxes are collected.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the official paper.
