2246 Sidewalk Repairs289 ORDINANCE N0. 2246 (rublished in -the Salina Daily Union April 1919) An ordinance providing for the repairing of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That the owner or owners of the following described lots and tracts of land in the City of Salina, Kansas, be and they are hereby required to repair or cause to be repaired on or before the 15th day of May, 1919, the sidewalk now con- structed in front of and adjacent to such lots hereinafter de- scribed, as follows; Lots 17 and 181, Block 8, Calkin's Addition, Lots ' 16-18 and 20, Block 15, Pacific Addition, East side Lot 30, Block 159 Pacific Addition, South half -Lot 4, Block 15, Pacific Addition, Lots 6-8-10-12 Block 15; Pacific Addition, Lots 10 and 12 lock 2 Crowther's Addition. Section 2. All of the above mentioned walk shall be repaired iii a good and workmanlike mannek so as to make a smooth, even surface and shall be repaired of the materials with which the walk is now constructed. Section 3. The Committee on Sidewalk of the City Council shall as soon as practicable after the 15th day of May, 1919, cause any sidewalk herein mentioned to be repaired as herein pro- vided if the owner or owners of the property liable for such repair shall fail, neglect or refuse to so repair the same and the said committee shall report their proceedings, together with the length and dimensions of the walk so repaired by said commit- tee, together with the nature of the repairs made and actual ex- pense thereof, to the City Council. Section 4. The expense of the repairs in the event that the said committee shall be required to cause them to be repaired shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon ac- cording to the front foot thereof, and collected the same as oth- er taxes against said real estate. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official city paper. Passed and approved this 7th day of April, 1919. _Edd Mathews.
