ORDINANCE NO. 2237
(Published in the Salina Daily Union February 1919)
An ordinance creating the position of machinist in the Fire De-
partment and fixing his salary therefor.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That there be and is hereby created in the
Fire Department of the City of Salina the position of machinist
whose duty it shall be in addition to performing the work of an
ordinary fireman to look after and keep in repair the fire engines
and machinery used in connection with such fire department and
all automobiles owned and used by said City.
Section 2. That after the passage and publication of this
ordinance that the Mayor by and with the consent of the Council
shall appoint some person who is qualified to fill the positian
of machinist and perform the work of that position, whose term
of office shall be the same as that of the firemen of the fir4
class.
Section 3. That such person so appointed in accordance
with'the provision of Section Two (2) hereof shall be paid as
full compensation for his services the sum of One Hundred ($10D)
Dollars per month, payable semi-monthly as other bills for sal-
aries against said ..City are paid.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
City paper.
Passed and approved, February 17th, 1919.

lina, Kansas, do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is
a true and correct copy of Ordinance No. 2237, passed by the
Council and approved by the Mayor of the city of Salina, Kansas
February 17th, 1919; and that a record of the vote on its final
adoption is found on Page /77 of Journal No. 9. Said ordin-
ance was published in the Salina Daily Union, February 1919.

BE IT ORDA IRED by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
