ORDINANCE NO. 2224
(Published in the Salina Daily Union, November 1918)
An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalk
in the city of Salina, Kansas.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That the owner or owners of the fullowing described
tract of land in the city of Salina, Kansas, be and they are hereby
required to construct or cause to be constructed on or before the
20th day. of Defember, 1918, a sidewalk in front of and adjacent
to such tract of land as follows:
On the n6rth side of ,&sh Street across Missouri Pacific
Right -of -Way.
Sec. 2. That all of the above mentioned sidewalk shall be
constructed of the material and in the width and manner specified
and required by the provisions of Ordinances No. 1038, 1971 and
1974 of the city of Salina, Kansas, which said ordinances are here-
by incorporated in and made a part of this ordinance.
See. 3. The committee on sidewalks of the City Council shall
as soon as practicable after the 20th day of December, 1918, cause
any sidewalk herein mentioned to be constructed if the owner or
owners liable for such construction shall failm neglect -or refuse
to so construct the same within the time herein provided and shall
report their proceedings, together with actual expenses thereof to the
City Council.
Sec, 4. Expenses of construction of said sidewalks by said
committee, in event that they construct the same shall be assessed
against the real estate abutting thereon according to the front
foot thereof and collected as other taxes against said real estate
are collected.
Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the Salina Daily
Union.
