2183 Apprpriations1 1 1 1 ORDINANCE NO. 2183 (rublished in the Salina Daily Union May 1918) An ordinance) providing for the appropriation and condemnation of certain land, appointing appraisers therefor and fixing their comepsnation. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That land for the purpose of a site for the eree- tion and construction of a voting place for the south precinct of the Third Ward in the City of Salina, Kansas, be and the same is hereby appropriated and condemned, the same being described as fol- lows, to -wit: Beginning at a point 10 feet north of the southeast corner of Lot 10, Block 1, Morrison's Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas; thence west 21 feet; thence north 40 feet; thence east 21 feet; thence south 40 feet to the place of beginning. Sec. 2. That B. 0. Wilder, W. IN11, Uarrison, F. G. Houghton, Ralph Anderson and M. E. Ford, fi ve disinterested persons and householders of the City of Salina, Kansas, be and they are hereby appointed and designated as appraisers to determine and assess all value and damafps for property taken for or injured by the appropria- tion and condemnation of such land., Said appraisers shall, in mak- Ing their appraisement and assessment, take into consideration the benefit resulting tfrom the erection and construction of such poll - Ing place as well as the damages sustained by the owner of the land so taken. Sec. 3. Such appraisers shall be paid as full compensation for their services the sum of $3.00 per day for each day in which they are actually engaged in making their appraisement and before entering upon their duties as said appraisers s -,all take an oath to faithfully and impartially make such appraisement to them sub- mitted. Sec. 4. When such appraisers shall have completed the deter- mination and assessment of the value and damages on account of the condemnation and appropriation of such land, they shall make a writ- ten report of their acts and doings as such appraisers under the appointment herein made and shall file a copy thereof with the City Clerk of Salina, Kansas. Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official City paper. Passed and approved, May 20th, 1918. Edd Mathews, (SEAL) Mayor.
