2180 Railroad Switch Tracks - Fourth Streetr '426 ORDINANCE N0. 2180 (Published in the Salina Daily Union May 1918) An ordinance granting to The Union Pacific Railroad Company a Right of way to build cer8ain rairlroad tracks, upon, along and across certain streets and alleys in the City of Salina, Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That the right of way be and the same is hereby granted to The Union Pacific Railroad Company to build, maintain and operate switch tracks and to run its engines, trains and cars thereon to its freight terminal at Third and Ash Streets in the City of Salina, Kansas from a connection with the main line track of its McPherson Branch on Fourth Street north of Pine Street along, upon and across Fourth Street in a southeasterly direction over and across Pine Street in a southeasterly directions over and across the alley in the block between Third and Fourth Streets and between Pine and Elm Streets in said City and over and across Elm Street in a southerly direction. Also two switch tracks to the transfer platform of said terminal over and across Elm Street in said City and a right of way to build, maintain and operate such other additional tracks as may be required to increase team track or freight house facilities at said freight terminal, over and across the alley in the block between Third and Fourth and between Pine and Elm Streets and over and across Elm Street between Third and Fourth Streets in,said City. Sec. 2. Said tracks to be built and constructed across said streets in accordance with the plans and specifications of the City Engineer and the Street and Alley Committee relating to rail- road crossings on paved streets in said City. Sec. 3. This ordinance when accepted, shall operate as a contract between said railroad company and said City. Sec. 4.
