An ordinance providing for the raising to grade of certain side-
walks in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That the owner or owners of the following de-
scribed lots and tracts of land in the City of Salina, Kansas,
be and they are hereby required to raise or cause to be raised
to the grade as established by the City ngineer of the City of
Salina, Kansas, a sidewalk in front of and adjacent to such
tract of land as follows, to -wit:
Lots 2-4-6-8-10-12-14-16-18-20-22-24-26-28-30 and '32 in Block
2, Episcopal Military Institute Addition.
Lots 2-4-6-8-10-12-14=16-18-20-22-24-26-28-30 and .32, in Block
11, Episcopal Military Institute Addition.
Lots 2-4-6-8-1012-14-16-18-20-22-24-26-28-30 and 32, in,Block
14, Episcopal Military Institute Addition.
Lots 2-4-6-8-10-12-14-16-18-20-22-24-26-28-30 and 32, in Block
23, Episcopal Military Institute Addition.
Lot 30, west side of Elm Street, in Weaver's Addition.
Lots 5-6-7-8-9- and 10, Block 2, Calkin's Addition.
Sec. 2. That all of the above mentioned sidewalks shall
be constructed of the material and in the width and manner as
they are now constructed.
Sec. 3. The Committee on Sidewalks of the City Council
shall as soon as practicable after the 12th day.of June, 1918
cause any sidewalk herein mentioned to be raised to the grade
established by the City Engineer of the city of Salina, Kansas,
if the owner or owners liable for such work shall fail, neglect or
refuse to perform the same within the time herein provided and
shall report their proceedings together with actual edpenses.

Sec. 4. The expenses of such work by said Committee in
the event they are required to perform the same shall be assess-
ed against the real estate abutting thereon according to the
front foot thereof and collected as other taxes against said
real estate are collected.
Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the Salina Daily
Union.
