ORDINANCE NO. 2167.
(Published in the Salina Daily Union April 1918)
An ordinance appointing appraisers, fixing their compensation and
providing for the condemnation and appropriation of land
for a right-of-way or easement for the construction of
certain -sewers in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That a right of way and easement for a sewer to
be laid and constructed under gound be and the same is hereby
appropriated and.condemned along and under the surface of the fol-
lowing described lots and pieces of ground, to -wit:
West 8 feet Lots 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18 and 20, Block 63, Military
Institute Addition.
East 8 feet Lots 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17 and 19, Block 63,.Military
Institute Addition.
West 8 feet Lots 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18 and 20, Block 46, Military
Institute Addition.
East 8 feet Lots 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17 and 19, Block 46, Military
Institute Addition.
West 8 feet Lots 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18 and 20, Block 45, Military
Institute Addition.
East 8 feet Lots 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17 and 19, Block 45, Military

all in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by the
City Engineer and approved by the Mayor and Council and now on file
with the City Clerk of the City of Salina, Kansas.
Sec. 2. That John Frederick., IG1. E+ Ford, W. M. Garrison,:
T. J. BRAniff and Thos. Quinn, five disinterested persons and house-
holders of the City of Salina, Kansas, be and ther are hereby ap-
pointed and designated as appraisers to determine and assess all
value and damages for property taken for, or injured by the build-
ing and construction of such sewer. Such appraisers shall, in

making their appraisement and assessment, take into consideration
the benefit resulting from the building and construction of such
sewer as well as the damages sustained by the owner of the land
so taken.
Sec. 3. Such appraisers shall be paid as full compensation
for their services the sum of $3.00 per day for each day in which
they are actually engaged in making their appraisement and before
entering upon their duties as such appraisers, shall take an oath
to faithfully and impartially make the assessment to them submit-
ted.
Sec. 4. When such appraisers shall have completed the valua-
tion and assessment of damages on account of the construction of such
sewer, they shall make a written report of their acts and doings
as such appraisers under the appointment herein made and shall file
a copy thereof with the City Clerk of the City of Salina, Kansas.
Sec. 5. This ordinance s#all take effect and be in full
force from and after its publicstion once in the official City
paper.
