An ordinance levying and assessing special assessments on certain
lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, ti
pay the cost of curbing, guttering, excavating and paving Front
Street in the City of alina, from the south line of iron Aven-
ue to a point about sixty-five (65) feet south of the south
line of an alley running east and west through Block Fourteen
(14) in Oakdale Addition to the city of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That for the purpose of payint the costs of curb-
ing, guttering, excavating and paving Front Street in the city of
Salina, Kansas, from the south line of Iron Avenue to a point about
sixty-five (65) feet south of the south line of an alley running
east and gest through Block Fourteen,(14) in Oakdale Addition as
described in Ordinance No. 2110, that there is hereby levied and
assessed against the property liable thereofr, the same being the
property abutting on such street on either side thereof, according
to the appraised value thereof, for the purpose of suchimprovements
without regard to the huildings or improvements thereon, and special
assessments being based on the valuation of such lots and pieces of
ground herebefore made by three disinterested appraisers appoineed
by the.Mayor and Council for the purpose of making suchappraisement,
which appraisement is hereby referred to and made a part of this
ordinance. The several amounts levied and assessed against such
lots and pieces of ground aforesaid for,the purpose aforesaid, are
hereby found and determined to be as follows:

Sec. 2. Such amounts do levied and assessed shall be due.
and payable from and after the publication of this ordinance.
The City Clerk of the City of Salina, shall certify to the County
Clerk of aline County, Kansas, in the same manner and at the
same time as other taxes are certified for the year 1918, all.
of the above special assessments which have not been paid within
thirty days after the publication of this ordinance, together
with interest on such amounts in the sum of four and three-quarters
(4 ) per cent per annum and such amounts so certirieu shai.i be
-placed on the tax roll and collected as other taxes are collected.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication once in the official City paper.
