ORDINANCE NO. 2118.

An ordinance providing for the repairing of certain side-
walks in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of
Salina:
Section 1. That the owner or owners of the following
described lots and tracts of land in the City of Salina,
Kansas, be and they are hereby required to repair or cause
to be repaired on or before January 10th; 1918, the sidewalk
now constructed in front of and adjacent to such lots here in-

after described as follows:
Lots 14-16-18, Block 2, Crowthers Addition.
West Side, Lots 1 and 2, Walkers Addition.
Sec. 2. All of the above mentioned walk shall be re -

paired in a good, and workmanlike manner so as to make a
smooth, even surface and shall be repaired of the materials
with which the walks is now constructed.
Sec. 3. The.committee on sidewalks of the City Coun-
cil shall as soon as practicable after the 10th day of Janu-
ary., 1918, cause any sidewalk herein mentioned to be repair-

j ed as herein provided�if the owner or owners of the property
liable for such repair shall fail, neglect or refuse to_ so
repair the same and the said committee shall report their
proceedings, together with the length and dimensions of the
walk so repaired by said Committee together with the nature
of the repairs made and actual expense thereof, to the City

Council.
-Sec. 4. The expense of the repairs in the event that
the said Committee shall be repaired or cause them to be
repaired, shall be assessed against the real estate abutting
thereon according to the front foot thereof, and collected

the same as other taxes against said real estate.
Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its publication once in the official
City paper.
