ORDINANCE NO. 2116
(Published in the'Salina.Daily Union December 8th, _1917)
An ordinance levying and assessing special assessments on certain
lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas,
to pay the costs of curbing, guttering, excavating, grading
and paving Bishop Street from the west line of Thirteenth
Street to the east line of College Avenue in said City and
relating to and providing for the collection of such assess -
ments.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section I. That for the purpose of paying the costs of
curving, guttering, excavating, grading and paving Bishop Street
in the City of Salina, Kansas, from the west line of Thirteenth
Street to the east line of College Avenue in said City, as de-

rib ed in Ordinance No. 2004 that there is hereby -levied and

assessed against the property liable therefor the same being the

property abutting on such streets on either side thereof, accord -
ing to the appraised value thereof, for the purpose of such im-
provements without regard to the'buildingr or improvements there -
.I.
on, such special assessments being based on the valuation of such
lots and pieces of ground heregofore made by three disinterested
appraisers appointed by the Mayor and Council for that purpose

which appraisement is hereby referred to and made a part of this
ordinance. The several amounts levied and assessed against the
lots and pieces of ground aforesaid for the purpose aforesaid,
are hereby found and determined to be as follows:
That part ' of Lot . 41 on' Elm Street, Weaver's Addition,, com-
mencing ata point -78 feet north of the southwest corner of
said lot., thence north 84 feet; thence east 50 feet; thence
south 57 feet; thence southwesterly to the place of begin-
ning.

mencing.at a point 105 -feet north'of the southwest corner
of said Lot, thence north 57 feet; thence east 50 feet;

Section 2. Such amounts so levied and assessed shall be due

and, payable from and after the publication of this ordinance. The
City Clerk of the City of Salina shall certify to the County Clerk
of iSaline County, Kansas, in the same manner and at the same time
i
as ,other taxes are certified for the year 1918, all of the above
special assessments which have not been maid within thirty days
after the publication of this .ordinancem together with interest on
such amounts in the sum of 42. per annum, and such amounts so certi-
fied shall be placed on the -tax -roll and collected as other taxes
are; collected.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its publication once in the official City paper.
