2111 Eminent Domain - Alley Widening2bPGII - -- ------------- --------------------- ORDINANCE NO. 2111 _ (Published in the Salina Daily Union November 1917) J 1 1 1 1 An ordinance providing -for the condemnation and appropriation of certain lots and piecee of ground in the city of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of widening the alley from South Street to Morrisori..Avenue-'between Ninth Street and Tenth Street in the City of - Salina, - and providing for the ap- pointment of appraisers -therefor. Beit ordinaed by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That it is necessary that there should be and there is hereby.appropriated and condmned for the purpose of.wid- ening.the alley from South Street to Morrison Avenue, between Ninth Street and Tenth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, which said alley when widened is to be known as Putnam Avenue, the fol- lowing described lots and pieces of ground to -wit: A 14 foot strip off the west end of Lot 11 Block 1, in Morrisons Addition. A 14 foot strip off the west end of Lot 2,'Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. A 14 foot strip off the west end of Lot 3, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. A 14 foot strip off the west end of Lot 4, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. A 14 foot strip off the west'end of Lot 5, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. . A 14 foot strip off the west end of Lot 6, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. A 14 foot strip off the west end of Lot 7, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. A 14 foot strip off the west end of Lot 8, Block 12 in Morrison's Addition. A 14 foot strip off the east end of Lot 9, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. A 14 foot strip off the east end of Lot 10, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. A 14 foot strip off the east end' of Lot ll. -Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. A.14 foot strip off the east end of Lot 12, Block 1, in Morrison's addition. A 14 foot strip off the east end of Lot 13, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. A 14 foot strip off the east-end'of Lot 14, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. "A 14 foot strip off the east end of Lot 15, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. A 14 foot strip off the east end of Lot 16, Block 1, in Morrison's Addition. Sec. 2. The Mayor by and with the consent of the Council shall appoint three disinterested appraisers and householders to assess the damage caused by the apporpriation and condemnation of such lots and pieces of ground and who shall ascertain the actual value of the land so taken, without reference to the projected improvement, and the actual damage done to all other property thereby; for the payment of such valuation and damages, the ap- praise rs'shall assess p-praisers'shall.assess against -the city -the amount of benefit to the public generally by reason of the proposed improvement and the remainder of such amounts shall be assessed against the property within the Benefit District to be created which, in the opinion of the appraisers, shall be especially benefited by the proposed improvement. Such appraisers shall make due report in writing of their proceedings to the Mayor and Council. Sec. 3.
