2107 Levy Special Assessments90 W H ORDINANCE NO, 210.7 _ (Publinhad in the Salina Dai7u Uninr 1 1 1 1 447 An ordinance levying and -assessing special assessments oncertain lots -or pieces of ground in the ' city -of Salina, Kansas, to pay the costs of excavating, paving, curbing, and guttering Phillips Street from the Union Pacific Railroad Right-of-way to the Missouri Pacific Right -of -Way and relating to and pro- viding for the collection of such assessments. Beit ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That for the purpose of paying the costs of ex- cavating, paving, curbing and guttering -Phillips Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, from the right of way of the Union Pacific Rail- road to the right of way of the Missouri Pacific Railway Company as described in Ordinance No. 1960, that there is hereby levied and assessed against the property liable therefor the same being the property abutting on such street on either side thereof, according to the appraised value thereof, for the purpose of such improvements without regard to the buildings or improvements thereon, special assessments being based on the valuation of such lots and pieces of ground heretofore made by three disinterested appraisers appointed by the Mayor and Council for the purpose of making such appraisement which appraisement is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. The several amounts levied and assessed against the lots and pieces of ground aforesaid, for the purpose aforesaid, are here- by found and determined.to be as follows: 10:25 feet, Union Pacific Railroad Company 10.25 feet,. Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad Co., - 10:25 feet; Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railway Co., 10.25 feet, Missouri Pacific Railway Company, 6:966 feet, Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Co., 6.966 feet, Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railway Co., 6.966 -feet, Missouri Pacific Railway Company, 14.1 feet, Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railway Co., 6.9 feet. Missouri Pacific Railway Company, 12 feet; Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Co., 12 feet, Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railway Co., A -tract of land running 50 feet south from intersection of east line of Phillips Street with the south line of the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad Company, be- longing to the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company 67:6 feet, Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Co., 26.9 feet, Chicago Rock Island & Pacific Railway Co., $74.13 74.13 74.13 74.13 51.52 51.52 51.52 104.27 51.02 88.75 88.75 369. 75 499.91 198.74 A tract of land running 70 feet south of the intersection of the west line of Phillips Street with the south line of the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad Company, 517.69 Sec. 2. Such amounts so levied and assessed shall be due and payable from and after the publication of this ordinance. The City Clerk shall certify to the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, in the same manner and at the same time as other taxes are certified fcr the year 1918, all of the above special assessments which have not been paid within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance, together with interest on such amounts in the sum of four and one- half per cent per annum and such amounts so certified shall be placed on the tax roll and collected as other taxes are collected. Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the official City paper. Passed and approved, November 5th, 1917. Edd Mathews, (SEAL) Mayor.
