An ordinance levying -and assessing special assessments on cer-
tain lots and pieces of ground in the -City of Salina,
Kansas'to pay the costs of excaysting, curbing, guttering,
grading and paving Bond Street in said City, from the west
line of -Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Highland Aven-
ue an''relating to and providing for the collection of
such assessments,
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That for the purpose of paying the costs of
excavating, curbing, guttering and paving and grading Bond
Street from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of
Highland Avenue in the city of Salina, Kansas, as described in
ordinance Nos. 1972 and 1973, that there is hereby levied and
assessed against the property liable,therefor, the same being
the property abutting on such street, on either side thereof,
for the purpose of such improvements, without regard to the build-
ings or improvements thereon, such special assessments being
based on the valuation of such lots and pieces of ground hereto-
fore made by three disinterested appraisers appointed by the May-
or and Council for the purpose of making such appraisement, which
appraisement is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinnee.
The several amounts levied and assessed against the lots and pie-
ces of ground aforesaid for the purpose aforesaid are hereby found
and

Sec. 2.., Such amounts so levied and assessed shall be due
and payable from and after the publication of this ordinance.
The City Clerk of the City of .Salina shall certify to the County
Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, in the same manner and at the
same time as other taxes are certified for the year 1918, all of
the above special assessments which have not been paid within
thirty days after the publication of this ordinance, together
with interest on such amounts in the sum of four and one-half
per cent (4z%) per annum, and such amounts so certified shall be
placed on the tax roll and collected .as other taxes are collected.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the official City
paper.
