2103 Levy Special Assessments2bPGIi 1 1 1 C! 437 ORDINANCE NO. 2103 _ (Published in the Salina Daily Union Novem' 1917) An ordinance levying and assessing special assessments on certain lots and pieces of -ground in the -City of Salina, Kansas, to' pay the ' costs of excavating, curbing, guttering, grad- ing and -paving College Avenue from the north line of Park Street-to`the south line of Bishop Street and relating to and provising for the collection of such assessments. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That for the purpose,of paying the costs of excavating, curbing, guttering, grading and paving college Avenue in the city of Salina, Kansas, from the north line of Park street to the south line of Bishop Street as described in Ordinances numbered 1972 and 1986-, that there is hereby levied and assessed against the property liable therefor, the same being the property abutting on such streets on either side thereof, according to the appraised value thereof, for the purpose of such improvements without regard to the buildings or improvements thereon, such special assessments being based on the valuation of such lots and pieces of ground heretofore made by three disinterested appraisers appointed by the Mayor and Council for the purpose of making such appraisement which appraisement is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordjnance. Such amounts so levied and assessed shall be due and payable from and after the publication of this ordinance. The City Clerk of the City of Salina, shall certify to the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, in the same manner and at the same time as other taxes are certified for the year; 1918, all of the above special assessments which have not been paid within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance, together with interest on such amounts in the sum of(42%) four and one- half per cent per annum, and such amounts so certified shall be placed on the tax roll and collected as other taxes are collect- ed. Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official City paper. Passed and approved, November 5th, 1917. Edd Mathews, Mayor.
