2101 Levy Special AssessmentsORDINANCE NO -.-2101
An Ordinance levying and assessing special assessments on cer-
tain lots and pieces of ground in the'city of Salina,
Kansas, to pay'the cost of excavating, curbing and gut-
tering of Fifth Street from the south line of -Crawford
Avenue to the south line of -Prescott Avenue in said---_-
City; and relating to and providing for the collection
of such assessments.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
,Section 1. That for the purpose of paying the costs of
excavating, curbing and guttering Fifth Street in the City of
Salina, Kansas, from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the
south line of Prescott Avenue as described in Ordinance No.
1928, that there is hereby levied and assessed against the pro-
perty liable therefor, the same being the property abutting
on such street on either side thereof, according to the apprais-
ed value thereof, for the purpose of such improvements without
regard to the buildings or improvements thereon, such special
assessments being based on the valuation of such lots and
pieces of ground herebefore made by three disinterested apprais-
ers appointed by the Mayor and Council for the purpose of mak-
ing such appraisement, which appraisement is hereby referred
to and made -a part of this ordinance. The several amounts lev-
ied and assessed against the lots and pieces of ground afore-
said for the purpose aforesaid, are hereby found and determined
to be as follows:

Sec. 2. Such amounts so levied and assessed shall be due
and payable from and after the publication of this ordinance.
The City Clerk of the City of Salina, shall certify to the County
Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, in the same manner and at the
same time as other taxes are certified for the year 1918, all of
the above special assessments which have not been paid within thirty
days after the publication of this ordinance, together with inter-
est on such amounts in the sum of four and one-half (42%) per an-
num on such amounts, and such amounts so certified shall be placed
on the tax roll and collected as other taxes.are collected.
Sec. 3: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication once in the official City paper.
