2096 Sidewalk Improvements - Fruitland Addition2bPCIT 416 J 1 1 ORPOA E _NO_. - (Published in the Salina Daily Union October / 1917) An ordinance providing for the construction of certain side- walks in the city of Salina, Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That the owner or owners of the following de- scribed lots or tracts of land in the city of Salina, Kansas be and they are hereby required to construct or cause to be con- structed on or before the lot day of November, 1917, a sidewalk in front of and adjacent to such lots or tracts of land described as follows, to -wit: Lots 14-13-12-11-10 and 9, and on the west side of Lot 9, and 10 in Block 2, Fruitland Addition to the City of Salina; Lots 7-6- and 5, in Bleck 1, Fruitland Addition to the City of Salina. Sec. 2. That all of the above mentioned sidewalks shall be constructed of the material and width and in the manner speci- fied and required by the provisions of Ordinances numbered 1038, 1971 and 1974 of the city of Salina, Kansas, which said ordinances are made a part of this ordinance as fully as though written out at length herein. Sec. 3. That the Committee on sidewalks of the City Coun- oil, shall as soon as practicable after the lot day of November, 1917, cause any sidewalk herein mentioned to be constructed, if the owner or owners liable for such construction shall fail, neglect or refuse to so construct tge same within the time herein provided, and shall report their proceedings together with the length and dimensions of the walk so constructed by said committee, togeth- er with the actual expense of the same, to the City Council. Sec. 4. The expense of the construction of said sidewalks, by said committee, in the event that they shall be required to construct the same, shall be assessed against all the real estate abutting thereon according to the front foot thereof, and collect- ed as other taxes against said real estate are collected. Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official City paper. Passed and approved, this lot day of October, 1917. (SEAL), Attest: Chas.
