ORDINANCE NO.--2091.---

An ordinance providing for the repairing of certain sidewalks
in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That the owner of owners of the following
described lots and tracts of land in the City of Salina, Kansas,
•be and they are hereby required to repair and raise to the grade
established and fixed by the City Engineer of the City of Salina,
Kansas, on or before the 23rd day of October, 1917, the sidewalk
in front of and adjacent to such lots described as follows, to -
wit:
Lots 2-4-6-8-10-12-14-16-18-20-22-24-26, Block 14,
Episcopal Military Institute Addition to the City of Salina, Kan-
sas,
Lots 10-12-14-16-18-20-22-24-26-28-30-32, Block 2, Episco-
pal Military Institute Addition,
Lots 17-18-19-20, Block 7, Calkin's Addition.
Sec. 2. That all of the above mentioned sidewalks shall
be repaired in a good and workmanlike manner so as to make a smooth
even surface on the grade established by the City Engineer of the
City of Salina, Kansas and of the material of which the walk is
now constructed.
Sec. 3. The Committee on sidewalks of the City Council shall
as soon as practicable after the 23rd day of October, 1917, cause
any sidewalk herein mentioned to be repaired as herein provided
if the owner or owners of the property liable for such repair shall
fail, neglect or refuse to so repair the same and the said com-
mittee shall report their proceedings, together with the length
and dimensions of the walk so repaired ny said committee together
with the nature of the repairs made and actual expense thereof,
to the City Council.
Sec. 4. The expense of the repairs in the event that the
said committee shall be repaired to cause them to be repaired shall
be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon according
to the front foot thereof, and collected the same as other taxes
against said real estate.
Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
City paper.
